Die Wasserentsalzungsanlage wird aufgebaut
Zwischenbericht des Projektfortschritts (aus Zeitgründen muss dieser Bericht mal unübersetzt bleiben, aber das Englisch ist recht einfach. Hier eine Mini-Zusammenfassung: Das Projekt (das aus 4 Teilprojekten besteht) ist angelaufen und entwickelt sich so wie es geplant gewesen war. Besonders positiv hervorgehoben wird die Erfahrung der Zusammenarbeit der drei beteiligten Organisationen die es vor dem Tsunami nicht in der Form gab. Es wäre gut, wenn alle Tsunami-Hilfsorganisationen in der Form zusammengearbeitet hätten) ”Tsunami Rehabilitation programme for Mahabalipuram area This joint action programme by ACL, ACDS and CWDR is implemented at Mahabalipuram from July 2005 onwards. Since this project is started 7 months after Tsunami we had fair idea about the situation and it helped to implement the project in a systematic manner. We could able to implement our project as planned. The only major change is in the school programme, the school in Mahabalipuram is adopted by the Government of Rajasthan, so we have adopted two Adi-dravida elementary schools nearby. The recent rains also slowed down the project implementation. In general we are happy about the progress, it is also a joint action programme and we have learned many things about networking, working together. So far we have provided revolving fund for 15 dalit women and 10 fisherwomen. They have renewed their business activities. Since it is the season for tourists they are happy about that they could start the business at the right time. Our staff members conduct regular meetings with them. We are also providing dressmaking training to adolescent girls and women. 30 women and adolescent girls are attending this training. Recently we have also placed a computer in the centre and girls are learning computer skills. In addition to these they are also given sexuality education for them. These women and girls attending these trainings formed a self help group "Thamarai Pengal Munnetra Sangam". They are given the loan to start business activities. In one adi-dravida school we have repaired the existing toilet facilities and classrooms, in another school we have built toilet facilities which 20 students can use at a time. The school headmaster and we jointly implemented the whole process. We have also organised regular teachers meeting and parent teachers meeting to decide the activities. We have purchased the machinery for desalination plant and put a borewell and motor, but because of heavy rains we could not erect the machines. Most of the money (Rs.2,15,000)received was spent on buying these equipment. We are planning to erect the machines during January 2006. Father Kulandairaj visited the project area and discussed with the people. In the coming months we will be implementing the rest of the project and we will be focussing more on development aspects like providing leadership skills, gender issues, business management. This is joint action is also new experience for us. Of course we are all part of some networks but three organizations working as a team in one area is a new experience for us. This should have happened among all NGOs working in Tsunami area. But definitely this experience of few NGOs working together would help in our future actions.” weitere Fotos (Anfang Januar 2006)
Die neu gebauten Toiletten
hier der erste Berichtvom 22.9.2005: ACDS, ACL, CWDR Zwischenbericht des Projektfortschritts Even before receiving the funds we have been organising regular meetings in Mahabalipuram area. Once we have received the funds our work become more focused. At the same time the work become little slower because we have been coordinating with other NGOs, Local fishermen's association and government department. In these two months we have shared our ideas that is the project objectives with the people and started identifying the resources and people to implement our project. Schon vor dem Erhalt der Geldmittel haben wir regelmäßige Treffen in der Mahabalipuram-Gegend organisiert. Seit wir das Geld erhalten haben, konzentrierten wir unsere Bemühungen. So wurde gleichzeitig die Arbeit etwas langsamer, da wir uns mit anderen NGOs, lokalen Fischervereinen und Regierungsabtreilungen koordinieren mussten. In diesen 2 Monaten haben wir unsere Ideen den Menschen hier mitgeteilt und begannen, Resourcen und Menschen zu identifizieren, die wir bei der Umsetzung unseres Projektes benötigen. We have identified 5 dalit women vendors and given Rupees 25,000 as capital to strengthen their business that is selling sea-shell goods, food to the tourists. We have already purchased the reverse osmosis desalination plant. Another NGO is building a community hall there; outside of it we are erecting the desalination plant. We are waiting for them to finish the building. We have already put a bore well in that area. Wir haben 5 kastenlose Verkäuferinnen bestimmt und gaben ihnen 25.000 Rupien, um ihr Geschäft (Muschelstücke und Essen für Touristen) zu unterstützen. Wir haben auch schon die Entsalzungsanlage angeschafft. Eine andere NGO wird eine Gemeinschaftshalle bauen, außerhalb dieser errichten wir die Anlage. Wir müssen also auf das Bauende warten. Wir haben schon einen Bohrbrunnen (bore well) dort installiert. We have also organized regular meetings with adolescent girls and informed about vocational skill training programme,, we have rented a place for that, a staff member is also appointed she is now going for house visits to build relationship with adolescent girls and also to identify the trainees. Außerdem haben wir regelmäßige Treffen mit den jungen Mädchen organisiert und über die Fortbilungsprogramme informiert. Wir mieteten dafür einen Raum, eine Ausbilderin ist gefunden, die Hausbesuche durchführt, um eine Beziehung zu den Jugendlichen aufzubauen und die Auszubildenen auzuwählen. The school at Mahabalipuram is shifting to another place. So we have to wait for few more months to build toilets. In consultation with a civil engineer we have done the drawings and plan for the toilet building.. We have also collected the quotations from contractors. Now the schools are having quarterly holidays, we will start the construction by November month. Die Schule in Mahabalipuram wird an einen andern Ort verlagert. Also müssen wir ein paar Monate warten, um die Toiletten bauen zu können. In Absprache mit dem Bauingenieur haben wir Zeichnungen und Pläne für das Toilettenhaus angefertigt. Auch haben wir Angebote von den Baufirmen eingeholt. Jetzt hat die Schule vierteljährliche Ferien, so dass wir mit dem Bau im November anfangen werden.
